Tanner in India

52 hours of travel. Can you even imagine? They look pretty happy for being only part of the way there.  This was taken at a McDonalds in India as they were waiting for their last plane ride.
I am sure they were super excited to see this McDonalds--it sounds like a few of them got sick on the airplane rides because the food was "horrible". One teen described it as "looks like dragon vomit" and "something that you should know better than not to eat".

Finally arrived in Jibhi. Sounds like they are eating pretty good at the Jibhi camp.
Their first morning they had French Toast.

I cried when I saw this picture! I am so happy and proud of this boy (man).  I can't believe that he is finally there after all of his hard work and stress.  I am sure he is going to have the time of his life.

At the Airport: Bye Bye Sweet Son of Mine

Warning: Picture Overload
He's going to INDIA people!
Of course it's picture overload.
Look away if you must.

Gosh how I love this little fella..

I don't know her name.. but this is Tanner's adult leader for the trip.
He is on the pink team (thus the pink bandanas)
and she made all of the kids a pink bracelet that had
some significance to their group.
(I don't think it was "Save the Ta-Ta's)

Operation Shaanti is the name of their expedition. If you desire, please follow their journey at www.ymad.org. Each teen will blog one time in the 2 week time period once they get settled.  I have no idea when Tanner may blog, but it is always fun to read the experiences of all of the kids.

I will not see your face for many a moon,
nor will I have to make you food or clean up your sweaty socks.
I will be lost without you and your smelly teenage boy bum.

One of the best days ever! We had such a fun day. It was awfully fun to watch Todd and Tanner try to "out macho" each other...(I beat them both). It was a gorgeous winter day and we had the wilderness to ourselves (except the moose).

"I believe our problems, almost every one, arise out of the homes of the people. If there is to be reformation, if there is to be a change, if there is to be a return to old and sacred values, it must begin in the home. It is here that truth is learned, that integrity is cultivated, that self-discipline is instilled, and that love is nurtured."
