My son.. the football stud.

I know.  I am obsessed.  I love football. And I really love watching my son play football.  I have many people (mothers) tell me that they will never let their sons play.  Some nonsense about them getting head injury or some other sissy problem.  I am sorry, I live to watch my son knock other innocent teens on their backs.  I love to hear the sound of him crushing someone.  Yes.. I even yell things like "Hit somebody, Ashby!"  I am a freak.  I can't help it.  You and your sons can sit home and crochet and mince carrots for your girly girl salad.. me and my boy are going to the field to hurt someone.

I AM KIDDING PEOPLE!! (ok.. only sort of..)

At one point in this game, Tanner had some blood running down his face.  I walked over to try to help him dab it off and another mom was like, "Oh, Stacy.. I thought you were going to take a picture of him with the blood on his face."  She knows me all too well.  I was a bit disappointed in myself that I didn't.

Whatever, judgers, whatever.

 Almost sacked him..

Takes 4 guys to get him down...

He is the one with the ball..

He is the one that jumped higher ;)

Like the star of a gatorade commercial..

Sadie Grace getting her cheerleader on!

Makes my heart ache..

It was her first day of preschool a few days ago.

Her last year of preschool.

She is as anxious to be out in the world as her big sister was at that age.

She could not wait to get to school.

Eager to learn.

Make new friends.

And most importantly, wear her new dress that she picked out.
It is all about the fashion, even when you are a 4 year old, going to preschool.

Final thoughts and pics..

1) Love Bear Lake
2) Love Raspberry Shakes
3) Love the picture of my parents with all (minus Avery) the rugrats
4) Love my family

BE AFRAID. BE VERY AFRAID.

I asked for a picture of Cole and Tanner together.
This "sexy" shot is what I got.
I told you.
Be afraid.

Now, imagine that IT is your son.

These pictures are more like it.
I adore my sons.
My beautiful, adorable, loving, sweet cross-dressing sons.

Sunday at it's most Sabbathy

What would a Sabbath Day be if it didn't include a visit to the local meetinghouse for a wonderful, uplifting meeting.  We loved attending Sacrament meeting at Bear Lake.  There were LOTS of people who also felt the need to worship, even though it was Labor Day.  The entire building was full.  We ended up in the primary room, half of us on those cute little preschool chairs.  It was a great meeting and we were only mildly disruptive.  After church, we came back to the lodge and pulled out the leftover pizza--you know, we had about 79 slices of pieces left.  We then got settled in for a restful few hours.  After our Sunday nap, we decided to go on a little hike above our lodge.  Tyler was fast asleep and so we sent Tanner and Cole to wake him up by putting ice down his shorts (silly boys! it is like poking a sleeping bear!). It is always fun to watch Ty put the smackdown on those two teenagers.  Poor Cole ended up with aloe vera gel in his bum crack. Ty tried to gel my son's bum crack too, but Tanner is not as peace-loving as Cole and he fought back.  So Sabbathy.  After Cole recovered from this horrible rear assault, we went on our walk.  It was beautiful and fun.  After our hike we decided to go for a drive to the Idaho side of Bear Lake.  It, too, was beautiful and fun.  We ended up at the northern most beach of Bear Lake.  Despite it being Sunday, we let the kids wade (OK, some of them swam) in the water.  Beautiful and fun.

Back to the lodge for more pizza.

Awesome.

And beautiful and fun.

JOY!!

Poor Cole.
But his bum crack is nicely moisturized.

Beautiful and Fun.

Day 2 - Adventure with Food Hoarding: Bear Lake Edition

Saturday, September 3rd.

Rolled our sorry fannies out of our lovely beds, had a marvelous breakfast of pancakes, bacon and eggs. Fueled with some carbs, we were able to load our gigantic bodies into our cars and make it to the beach before 10 a.m. We set up our day camp, including a modified pantry for all of our snacks and then started another fun day.

There was boating and sea-dooing; swimming and splashing; playing in the sand and jumping in the water; laughing and crying (when we ran out of fritos); sleeping and reading. So much fun with my crazy family. I am so blessed to belong to this family, because I am a lunatic and they still love me. I think I am the novelty of the family; the crazy aunt who everyone thinks is a little nutty but pleasantly so. Love you all, you sick twisted freaks!

Todd and Tanner had to stay at home until after Tanner's football game on Saturday. Shortly after this picture was taken, Todd was taking Maddie for a ride and they hit some crazy big wave and got thrown off. Of course, my husband head butted the handlebars and got a hand grip to the groin.. bloodied and bruised, but not broken. Silly boy. We have both decided that Maddie is a bit of a crazy person. She loved riding with him, despite his every attempt to dump them both in the water. She said half the time her legs were flopping straight out behind her and she was barely holding on. Crazy. He MADE me go out with him and I cried they entire time because I thought I was going to die. No really, I did. What if I would have died, by my husbands hand while riding a sea doo at a reunion? Do you know that my last meal would have been jerky and a twinkie? That would have been awesome..

The following images may just be my favorite photos of all time. The 3 girls learned how to pop the little kids up in the air with BIG BERTHA. It was so funny, we all about peed our suits laughing. I especially like the second picture of Sadie's face.. it's fallen and it can't get up! Several of the little ones ended up face first in the sand and came up gagging and coughing up sand. I mean, we will eat just about anything, including sand.

Sadie became an expert at her dismounts..
Sai tried (and failed) to do a full front pike tuck as his dismount.

This is little Blake. See Blake fly.

And this would be Luke..

We decided to order pizza this night and I was in charge of ordering it. I was going to order 3 large pizzas, but my food hoarding mother suggested that we should get 4. Why, oh why, do I listen to my mother.. The place that we got them, Bear Lake Pizza, neglected to tell me that each large pizza weighed about 20 pounds and was 28 inches across. The boxes barely fit through a door, people! It was a food hoarders dream come true. We also had to have a fresh raspberry shake for everyone. Seriously, please help me.

Brother Brett is just starting to show the effects of the shake and
7 pieces of pizza. Soon after this photo was taken, he slipped into a food-induced coma.

We all soon followed.

Needless to say, this scene was repeated over the next 5 meals. We had pizza for the next 5 meals and still had leftover pizza. Stupid freakin pizza.

"I believe our problems, almost every one, arise out of the homes of the people. If there is to be reformation, if there is to be a change, if there is to be a return to old and sacred values, it must begin in the home. It is here that truth is learned, that integrity is cultivated, that self-discipline is instilled, and that love is nurtured."
