This is a date fairy that my kids actually caught and tried to make their pet.. RIP date fairy
Todd and I went out with some friends last night to dinner and a movie. When we go on a date it is a tradition that the date fairy comes. This is something my mom and dad started when we were growing up. If we were good for the babysitter-or to be real, if the babysitter was alive when mom and dad came home-then when we woke up in the morning the date fairy would have left us a treat under our pillow. I can still remember how excited I used to get to see what that crazy fairy had left me.
Now, it is the concept of the date fairy, that inspires my children to be sweet little angels while we are on our date. They wake, they stretch and then a light comes on in their eyes and they throw their pillow, search their bed for any sweet treat to be found. Last night, the date fairy was a bit chintzy with her treat because she has witnessed what a lot of sugar does to my children, so she left a little Reeses peanut butter cup.
Luke found his first and was thrilled, even though it was small. Sadie frantically searched for hers, found it and said,
"Oh, tute! Da Date Fawey dave me a wittle muffin!" (translation: oh cute! the date fairy gave me a little muffin!)

I guess they do look like little muffins. It was really cute or "tute" as Sadie says.
