Sadie Grace is funny!

Sadie: Mommy! Mommy! My bum is so sword! (translation: my bum is sore!)

Me: Your bum is sore? I am sorry. Maybe you need a bath or somethin'.

Sadie: No, Mom.  I need you to put some of that powdered sugar on my bum.

She is addicted to powdered sugar (talcum powder) and is always saying her bum is sword.

Sadie: Mom you are so precious to me (as she is stroking my cheek and looking into my eyes)!

More evidence of my superior mothering skills which you lack..

I do think it might be the funniest thing I have seen all week.

And you know me, I see lots of funny. This is funny.

Very inappropriate, but oh, so funny.

I think he moves around so much that it could be counted as exercise.
We don't need no stinkin' park time! We got us some Halo 3 cardioX.

Just Put CPS on your speed-dial...

Yes... that is my sweet, innocent 4 year old playing Halo 3.

You should see how excited he gets when he finds a
sniper rifle.

(ME, YELLING AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS FROM THE KITCHEN: "TANNER! QUIT KILLING YOUR BROTHER! AND LUKE, QUIT CRYING WHEN YOUR BROTHER KILLS YOU!)

I have given up hope of winning the mother-of-the-year award.

I am shooting for most-improved mother award.

(ME, ON A GOOD DAY: "TANNER, WILL YOU PLEASE FIND A MACHINE GUN FOR YOUR LITTLE BROTHER AND LUKE, COULD YOU PLEASE NOT SAY 'FREAKIN HECK' WHEN YOU ARE PLAYING HALO? THANKS MY SONS. PEACE BE UNTO YOU.")

And yes, he has pajama pants on with a "day" shirt on that is not snapped up.
He is uncomfortable in his "peanut" area when it is snapped up.
He likes his soft pants for nap time and we hadn't changed back to his non-soft(?) pants.

I hope all of you who are judging me enjoy the fiery furnace that is awaiting you.
LUKE AND TANNER WILL BE THERE TRYING TO SNIPE YOU WITH THEIR RIFLE...

Fun weight loss ideas

I have discovered (thanks to my little sis) a wonderful, fun way to lose a bit of the ole flab.  It is called "Game On" and I have lost 9 pounds in 7 weeks of playing the game and it has been fun and HEALTHY-no gimmicks, no shots, no starvation- just good old fashioned exercise, drinking water, eating healthy and also changing bad habits and acquiring good habits.  If any of you are interested check out my other blogs relating to our "games"

She was a fast machine...

Here is my fabulous cherry red new kitchen implement that I received from my cute husband.
I couldn't believe he actually got me the color that I have been wanting.
I mean, I really thought he hadn't been listening.

I was so surprised, I said, "Oh, honey, did you really get me the red one?"
He got this scared look on his face and said, "I didn't even check the color.. it was the last one.  What color did you want?"
The look of relief that crossed his face when I told him that red was the color for me was priceless.

Luke + Scissors = Super Cute

I hope he doesn't develop TMJ...

The Date Fairy

This is a date fairy that my kids actually caught and tried to make their pet.. RIP date fairy

Todd and I went out with some friends last night to dinner and a movie. When we go on a date it is a tradition that the date fairy comes. This is something my mom and dad started when we were growing up. If we were good for the babysitter-or to be real, if the babysitter was alive when mom and dad came home-then when we woke up in the morning the date fairy would have left us a treat under our pillow. I can still remember how excited I used to get to see what that crazy fairy had left me.

Now, it is the concept of the date fairy, that inspires my children to be sweet little angels while we are on our date. They wake, they stretch and then a light comes on in their eyes and they throw their pillow, search their bed for any sweet treat to be found. Last night, the date fairy was a bit chintzy with her treat because she has witnessed what a lot of sugar does to my children, so she left a little Reeses peanut butter cup.

Luke found his first and was thrilled, even though it was small. Sadie frantically searched for hers, found it and said,

"Oh, tute! Da Date Fawey dave me a wittle muffin!" (translation: oh cute! the date fairy gave me a little muffin!)

I guess they do look like little muffins. It was really cute or "tute" as Sadie says.

"I believe our problems, almost every one, arise out of the homes of the people. If there is to be reformation, if there is to be a change, if there is to be a return to old and sacred values, it must begin in the home. It is here that truth is learned, that integrity is cultivated, that self-discipline is instilled, and that love is nurtured."
