Day 2: California Road Trip

Woke up and had breakfast and then went to the Adventuredome at Circus Circus.
The kids loved it.
Mom and Dad loved it.
Sadie was majorly disappointed that she was still too "yitto" to go on the big rollercoaster.

That girl is fearless.

Tuckered them out for the drive from Vegas to California.

This was our campsite for the first night.
Beautiful bluff with gorgeous weather.

The only downside...
It was about 100 yards from the freeway and about 70 yards from
a very active set of railroad tracks.

Needless to say,
it was not like camping up in the peaceful Uintah's

More like camping underneath  I-15, next to the Amtrak Station.

Maddie was convinced several times in the night that the train had come off
the tracks and she was about to be flattened.

I was so exhausted, I slept like a baby.

Todd stitching our tent.
Yes, stitching.
He brought a suture kit to stitch a rip.
Man, those are sexy doctor hands.
He was so gentle and skilled.
It was a pleasure to watch him at work, taking care of the needy.

This is Sadie showing me one of her many treasures that she found at our campsite.
Among other things she found...
a cigarette,
a beer bottle top,
a beer bottle
and a very special stick that became her walking stick.

Note the walking stick.

We took a sunset hike down to the beach.

Cute little stinks with their cute little sticks.

My "special" husband..

"I believe our problems, almost every one, arise out of the homes of the people. If there is to be reformation, if there is to be a change, if there is to be a return to old and sacred values, it must begin in the home. It is here that truth is learned, that integrity is cultivated, that self-discipline is instilled, and that love is nurtured."
