LAGOON/FOOTBALL/GRANDMA FARM'S HOUSE

ALL OF THESE ACTIVITIES OCCURRED IN A 48 HOUR PERIOD..
ALONG WITH MY CAHOOTS RACE TOO.

MY LIFE IS AWESOME..

I hate this ride.
I used to like it.
Then I got old.
My private parts don't like to be tickled...

Love that Maddie!

Getting wet

Gabe's 1st roller coaster ride of the day and only
the 2nd time in his life he would get on a ride like this.
I told him & Maddie that he could come,
but only if he would go on the rides.
He was a good sport and went on almost every ride.
And he is a great helper with my little ones...
We love our Gabey!
This was Luke's first time on alot of the big rides-
he did awesome too.
Sadie was ticked off most of the day because
she is a few inches shy of all the big kid rides.

Football season has arrived.
Tanner's first game was fun, even if it was only
Bingham JV vs. Bingham Sophomores.
Those little Sophie's did really good.
Tanner did great--In on 4 or 5 tackles and caused a fumble!
GO TANNER AND GO MINERS!!

Our visit to Grandma Farm's would not be complete
without holding a kitten for at least 5 hours straight.
Might be the cutest kitten in the entire universe.
Sadie loved it...skipped several meals to hold it.

Kitty and bunny love time.

CAHOOTS DUO CHALLENGE

"EL STUPIDOS" is the name you get when you make your mom
give you your team name...

"She-Man" was our team name.
He was seriously enjoying himself in his get-up.
His "Kate Gosselin" hair was sexy, dontcha think?

Yes... I am holding him up.
I seriously thought I tore my abdominal wall from my pelvis.
Serious pain after this dang zip-line.

AAhhhh..  we finished!!!
Todd lost 1/2 his clothes, but we finished...

Why I am...

  • STRESSED
  • BROKE
  • ANXIOUS
  • SAD
  • FREAKING OUT
  • SLEEP-DEPRIVED
  • GOING GRAY

As indicated in previous post,
I am now the owner of a 16 year old teenaged son
who drives.
By himself.
In the city.
At night and on the freeway.

Thus the fun adjectives that express my state of mind.

 eating ribs...

Tanner's birthday was filled with food and the DMV..
We ate breakfast at Denny's,
where Tanner scored a free GRAND SLAM.

He then washed it down with some fresh peach pie and a cupcake.

We took him to Texas Roadhouse for some ribs after football practice.
He ate like the teenaged football player that he is.
Love it.
Love him.

I love him enough to pay TRIPLE the amount in car insurance to insure his
dang teenaged boy butt.

Seriously, kill me...

 eating cupcake...

 getting driver's license..

 yeah, baby, yeah!!

Maddie was the only one who gave her brother a wrapped present..Thanks sister!

 Polishing off his pancakes..

And...
We have started packing.
Have you heard? 1/5 of my family and my heart is leaving.
In 6 days.
I will not be comforted-Diet Coke and Peach pie are not working.
She is leaving.
I can't believe it.
She is moving on up, to the east side.
Not to a deluxe apartment, but to a dorm room.
Which she will share with someone I don't know.
She will share a bathroom with 2 others whom I don't know.
She will be happy, despite (maybe even because) being gone from her mom.

There is not enough peach pie or diet coke in the world.

 packing..

My kindergartener is loving school,
My first grader is speaking in Chinese,
My 16 year old is asking if he can take the car,

My girl is going away.

I need a pill...
or two..

TANNER

My boy is 16.

Let me rephrase...
My young man is 16.

I am heartsick of all this growing up my family is doing.
They are leaving me in DROVES!
(what is a drove anyway?)

He will now be driving and dating.
AT THE SAME TIME EVEN!

I can't take it, I just can't.

My sweet little boy is now a full-fleged teenager, with swooning girls following him around and stinky clothes on his bedroom floor and a car that smells like cologne.  HE HAS A CAR!

He eats a lot.  He likes to walk around without a shirt.  He likes to flirt.  He loves to drive his car (with his Dad, not with me).  He enjoys smashing his head into other's heads (football).  He loves to sleep approximately 13 hours a day.  He is an amazing worker when he is not asleep, eating or at football.  He loves to grow a "beard" and can almost do it!  He loves guns and violence (just kidding... sort-of).  He tries really hard to do the right thing and honor his priesthood.

I am so proud of you,  Tanner!!

But, despite all of your other monikers (Smashby, T-Man)--you will always be my boy, my sweet little Tanner Ryan!

Fun with Stacy

The title of this picture should be:
"Fun with Sophie"
Do not kid yourself-she was having lots of fun with Sadie
and her stuffed duck.

Again, I love my Iphone and all my apps.
I am pretty much a toddler because I love me my stickers.

Had cute niece for the day.
Went to Zupas.
Made myself sick on my favorite mushroom bisque.

Tanner made the football team at Bingham.
Has his first game on friday.
I hope to see him crack some skulls, just not his own.

Sadie and I spent a few hours playing board games and watching the Olympics.
So fun and so lazy.
Love it!

Again, with the Sophie.
She is basking in the sun.
She is feeling faint from her workout of getting out of
Sadie's pillow hut.
This look says,
"Yes, I am glorious.  You may stare."

Last First Day of Kindergarten

Sadie Grace started Kindergarten on Thursday, Aug 2.
She has been so excited.
So excited to ride the bus and wear her kitty t-shirt.
Excited to use her backpack and see her friends.
Excited to leave the nest.
SAD SAD SAD!!

Actually, as much as it pulls at my heartstrings,
I am so happy my kids love school and are secure and confident
and ready to face the world.

I am so proud of you Sadie Grace!!

Might be my favorite picture of all time of these two rugrats!

Sadie and Kasey

Lining up..

Going, going....

GONE!

I really have a love-hate relationship with the bus/bus drivers.
There always tends to be at least one incident a year which makes me
question whether the kids should ride the bus.
We have had some great bus drivers recently and the one the drives in the morning is great.
I knew she would take care of my little ones.

However, I wasn't sure about who the driver was for the a.m. Kindergarten class.
So, I left work for a long lunch and came to Sadie's bus stop so I could
make sure she got off and got home safely and so I could
talk to her for a few minutes about her first day of school.

I waited and waited.
No bus, no Sadie.

It was very late, but I figured it was because it was the first time
the Kindergarteners were on the bus, maybe they were taking it extra slow.

I was just getting ready to call the school when I say the bus approaching.
I got my camera ready to capture her stepping off the bus, smiling face and spring in step.

The bus was almost here!  Yeah!!
But, wait...
The bus just passed her stop.
Passed me, standing there with my camera.

Stupid.
How stupid must you be to pass a woman with a camera on the
first day of kindergarten.
Stupid.

It didn't let Sadie off at the next stop.
So I got on the phone and started the Amber Alert.
(called the school)
Of course, I had horrible reception and kept getting cut off.

Meanwhile, I see the bus come back towards her stop.
I run.
I break the Olympic record for the 50 yard dash.
The bus pulls over, no lights or foldy out stop sign thing.

I look in the door and see my darling and the bus driver.
No one else on the bus.
He is consulting a map.
He is an idiot.
I knock on the door and rush in and grab up my darling.

I ask him what he is doing.. he passed her stop.
Was he going to let her off on the wrong side of the road with no flashers?

He says in broken English that he is a substitute and wasn't familiar with the bus route.

REALLY??
THE FIRST DAY OF KINDERGARTEN AND THEY SEND A
SUBSTITUTE THAT CAN'T SPEAK ENGLISH??
HOLY HANNA, DO I LIVE IN A WORLD OF 1/2 BRAINS?

Needless to say, I had a nice conversation with the Busing director over our school district.

So glad I was there to save my child from idiocy.
I mean, you basically have to be a super-hero each day in order
to keep your family safe, right?

This picture was taken on the 2nd day of school.
The bus actually dropped her off at the right bus stop this day
so I wasn't freaking out and I got a picture of her coming home!

"I believe our problems, almost every one, arise out of the homes of the people. If there is to be reformation, if there is to be a change, if there is to be a return to old and sacred values, it must begin in the home.
